Student projects

From 2019-2024 SAMAJ conducts a student exchange of total 64 Master students from NTNU to IOE, Tribhuvan University, and vice versa. The short-term exchange for NTNU students has a duration up to 3 months and considers design theory and design project work. The long-term exchange  for both NTNU and IOE students has a duration up to 6 months and considers Master thesis development.

All students have the opportunity  to work  with  selected  topics related to the SDGs in  both Norway  and Nepal  and to detect,  analyze  and utilize similarities  and  differences.  In this way SAMAJ enhances and broadens disciplinary knowledge for  architect-,  planning and design students and connects the SDGs  with  a  transdisciplinary  methodology.  The students particpate in education  activities at the host universities, e.g. an elective  Master course at  IOE  and  a Master seminar at NTNU.
